marathon

I don’t let my age slow me down. I try to take care of my body by being physically active. I was even recently in a marathon that featuring kids half my age. And I was able to finish ahead of most of those college kids. My secret is that I don’t smoke and I watch what I eat. No fast food for me! I load up on calories form healthy sources such as fish, vegetables, and fruits.

I do get to feel my age once in a while, it is mostly due to my arthritis. It is inevitable as my parents both suffered from it. But my arthritis is not as bad as theirs. I simply take some ordinary medication and I immediately get joint pain relief. The only advice I would give to kids is to take care of themselves when they’re young, so they don’t feel the pangs aging early on.

How Joint Pain Works

how joint pain worksMost of us probably know someone in our family who suffers from arthritis. Arthritis is an inflammation of the joints that causes severe pain in sufferers. In the case of people who don’t have arthritis the body can naturally heal inflammation by releasing chemicals that cause fluids to accumulate in white blood cells that gather around the inflamed area. But for people who have arthritis this isn’t the case.

The elements of the blood that are designed to fight infection and fight injury don’t work in those who have arthritis. When the inflammation isn’t treated it will cause destruction of the joints. Getting proper arthritis pain relief is a tricky question because traditional pain-relief therapies don’t usually work.
